BAPTISM

Anyone who wishes to be part of Jesus' church on earth, and more locally part of Københavnerkirken, can be baptized, provided they have not been baptized before. If the person is under 18, at least one parent must be a member of Københavnerkirken.

Before the baptism, there will be a baptism conversation between the person to be baptized, or that person's parent/parents, and one of the church's pastors. At the baptism there must be at least two and no more than five baptism witnesses or sponsors. The baptism takes place in connection with our Sunday service, and the rite can be seen here.

Contact Claus Grønbæk or Peter Techow for further information.

CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is the confirmand's opportunity to confess their Christian faith before God and people. Therefore confirmation is a festive day that we celebrate together as a congregation.

Confirmation preparation consists of a teaching course that extends over 4-6 teaching sessions. Here we will go in depth with essential topics in the Christian faith, while also prioritizing fellowship and meals together.

If you would like your child to be confirmed or have further questions, please contact Peter Techow.

The confirmation day will be Pentecost Sunday in the relevant year.

WEDDING

If you and your partner would like to get married, we would like to help and prepare you for it. To be married in Københavnerkirken, at least one of you must be a member. Before a wedding, there will be conversations that prepare you for both the wedding ceremony and marriage, and we also encourage participation in marriage courses.

The wedding itself is a collaboration between Københavnerkirken and the couple (regarding time, place and form). The rite can be seen here.

Contact Claus Grønbæk or Peter Techow for further information. Read the practical information here:

ANOINTING

In the Bible there are great promises that God hears prayer. Therefore we encourage you to have someone else pray for you. It could be one of your friends or one of the others in K-group. We also have prayer ministry in connection with the service, almost every Sunday. You are welcome to make use of it, whatever it concerns.

In connection with illness, James chapter 5 gives a special encouragement to have some people from the congregation - including a congregational leader - anoint and pray for you. If you would like this, you can contact Claus Grønbæk.

"Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord."

(James 5:14)

FUNERAL

If the tragic happens that a member of the church dies, the nearest relatives should contact Claus Grønbækwho will first of all be available for conversation and comfort. He will then also be able to help with the practical matters related to planning and carrying out the funeral.

Most cemeteries in Copenhagen are municipally owned, and therefore a burial site does not entail extra costs for people who are not members of the Danish National Church. Should there be additional costs due to not being a member of the Danish National Church, one may apply to Københavnerkirken for financial assistance to cover these costs.
