NEED A CONVERSATION?
Conversations about faith and life
Conversations about faith and life are also called pastoral care. Pastoral care is care for the soul - help for life and faith for you who need it. We want to meet you with care and respect, regardless of who you are and what you bring. We would like to listen to you and walk with you in your life of faith and your life story. Therefore all topics and themes, large and small, are welcome in these conversations!
We offer conversations that lead to reflection and a shared walk through the landscape and the spaces you invite us into. The conversations take place in a confidential setting, with a duty of confidentiality. They can be one-off conversations or a series of conversations. If you as a married couple need a conversation, Ulla and Søren make themselves especially available for this.
You are always welcome to contact one of the conversation partners below or one of the church's pastors!

BOOK A CONVERSATION WITH
Hans Erik Sørensen
I participate in the conversation team because I really enjoy talking with people. A long life with many different experiences provides an understanding of many of the situations we humans can find ourselves in—whether caused by ourselves or not. It is my experience that this can be helpful in conversations.
My church background is broad: both from the Danish National Church and free churches, including a couple of Pentecostal churches.
I am trained both in the IT industry and as a librarian, and I have worked for many years in both fields. I am now employed at Københavnerkirken, responsible for finances.
Privately, I am married to Ketty, and we have four adult children together.

BOOK A CONVERSATION WITH
Louise Høgild
I am 30 years old and trained as a theologian.
In my daily life I work at the Danish Bible Institute, where I teach pastoral care and Latin.
I have been part of Københavnerkirken since I moved to Copenhagen in 2012 and am among other things part of the church's preaching team. I would like to offer a listening ear, whether it concerns something big or small, perhaps thoughts you have not yet fully formulated.
I have myself had difficult things very close to life, and I have experienced that it can be a comfort to talk with someone about it. I do not necessarily have all the answers, but I would like to offer to walk a stretch, short or long, together with you in what may be difficult in faith and life.

BOOK A CONVERSATION WITH
Søren Toft
I am married to Ulla, and together we have 3 teenage/adult girls.
In my daily life I work as an engineer.
I am involved in Slaraffenland, where we work so that Københavnerkirken is also a church for our children. In addition, I spend quite a bit of time together with Ulla in conversations with young couples who are getting married, to give them the best possible foundation for marriage.
I have taken the "Pastoral Care and Family Development" course from Agape to get to know myself and my marriage better, and to gain more tools for conversations with other people.
I have experienced personally how liberating it is to share heavy thoughts with a pastoral caregiver and hear God's comfort spoken into my life, and how life-giving it is to share one's reflections and worries with another Christian and gain new perspectives on my life.
Therefore I gladly make myself available for conversations about faith, lived life and everything in between.

BOOK A CONVERSATION WITH
Ulla and Søren Toft
We have been married since 1995, and together we have three (almost) adult girls. Søren is an engineer, while Ulla is a researcher and heads a section at the Center for Clinical Research and Prevention.
Throughout our marriage, like most other couples, we have had our share of ups and downs. We have experienced challenges with different family backgrounds, different expectations for marriage, lack of communication, misunderstandings, etc.
We have been through crises that have cost many tears and required forgiveness and the rebuilding of trust. Through this we have received help and experienced great value in talking with other married couples and learning more about what is important in a relationship by participating in, for example, marriage courses. This experience has given us a desire to make ourselves available to couples who struggle with different challenges in their relationship.
We are not professional couples therapists! But we would like to offer to meet over a cup of coffee and listen, talk and pray together with you.
Our experience is that sometimes this is enough to loosen what is a little difficult, and often it simply helps to talk about it and gain some other perspectives on the challenges you are facing. It is so important not to struggle alone, but to tackle the challenges before they grow too big and become too overwhelming to solve.
Our background: For a number of years we have been a mentoring couple for engaged couples (20+ couples). Through nine engagement conversations, we talk with engaged couples about everything from identity, family background, spiritual life, communication and conflict resolution, sex and sexuality, finances, etc.
Since 2010 we have also helped organize an annual marriage weekend for couples of all ages.
In 2018/2019 we participated together in Agape's course in Pastoral Care and Family Counseling, which has given us good tools to understand ourselves and others better, and also to talk about the many aspects that matter for thriving and growing in a relationship.
