Congratulations on your big and wonderful decision to get married. We are very happy about that in Københavnerkirken. To help with all the practical steps ahead before you can say yes to each other, we have made the following list of things that are good to know:

Membership

To be married in Københavnerkirken, at least one of you must be a member of the church. This happens on the basis of a conversation with one of the church's pastors.

Conversation course
A really good way to prepare is by participating in engagement conversations with an experienced married couple from the church. If this is of interest, please contact Ulla and Søren Toft, who are responsible for engagement conversations for couples preparing for marriage. If their calendar is fully booked, they can refer you to other trained couples.

 

Appointment with pastor
As soon as you know when you would like to get married, contact one of the church's pastors and agree on the date of the wedding.

 

Certificate of no impediment to marriage
This document is the authorities' official document, which is a prerequisite for a wedding to take place. The certificate of no impediment must be obtained at Borger.dk and is valid for 4 months. Here you can also apply for a name change on the wedding date. When the certificate is received, it is forwarded to Københavnerkirken's office.

 

Booking premises for the wedding
If you would like a church room other than Bethesda for the wedding, you must contact the relevant church yourself and arrange this.

If you would like the wedding to take place in Bethesda, Københavnerkirken will book the Festsal and Billedsal/Konventsal if these are desired for a subsequent reception.

The bridal couple must arrange the decoration and subsequent cleanup of the Festsal themselves. We have a few simple "props" that can be borrowed by agreement. Regarding practical wishes and agreements, you must contact Bethesda directly (Karsten Amby - 25131823)

Københavnerkirken can help with music for the wedding, but if you want a specific ensemble/band/organist, you are responsible for that yourselves.

Københavnerkirken covers the cost of renting the Festsal for 2 hours in connection with the wedding. Other costs - for example renting rooms for the reception - are covered by the bridal couple.

 

First two hours:

Billedsal: DKK 1,550

Konventsal: DKK 500

Afterwards the price is respectively DKK 620 and DKK 200 per additional hour.
